Francis Russell Carroll

Francis Russell Carroll, known as Russell by his family and friends, age 94, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025 at his residence in North Attleboro, with his loving wife of 47 years, Diane (Herr) Carroll. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Isaiah P. Carroll and Florence A. (DesJeunes) Carroll. Russell was a Staff Sargent in the Airforce serving in the Korean War and was a proud veteran. He worked at Verizon Wireless as a Manager for 30 years, and then at the South Shore Hospital for 7 years as a Telecom Director before retiring. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, gardening, and gambling in Vegas.

In addition to his wife Russell is survived by his children Maria Duckett and her husband Daniel Duckett of New Hampshire, and Beth Rores and her husband James Rores of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his 4 siblings, and leaves behind his grandchildren Stephen Duckett and Sophia and Eleni Rores.

Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday November 18th at 1:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Russell’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/
