Frederick R. Pina

Frederick R. Pina, 85, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, July 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jean D. (Silva) Pina for 61 years. Son of the late Jasper and Ida Gomes Pina, he was born in Bourne and raised in Sagamore. He was a graduate of Bourne High School. He resided in Brockton for the past 52 years. Frederick was a meat cutter at Star Market then Shaw's Supermarket in Brighton for 50 years before retiring at age 83. He enjoyed boxing and boxed in the Golden Gloves Novice Division years ago. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Frederick is survived by his children, Darleen M. Weyant and her husband Scott of Taunton, Tammy E. Pina of Brockton, Robyn A. McCarthy and her husband Scott of Saco, ME and Frederick R. Pina, Jr. and his wife Lacey of Taunton. He was the grandfather of Nicole Pina, Erica Pina, Tyler Freedman-Pina, Sydni Pina and Jaden Weyant. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
