Genara A. (Arcamo) Peligro, affectionately known as “Lola” by her family, age 91, passed away peacefully at her residence in Canton surrounded by her family on May 28, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband Moises E. Peligro. Born in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Amancio Arcamo and Agostina (Alboradora) Arcamo, and immigrated to the United States in 2003 where she made her home in various towns throughout Massachusetts. Before coming to the United States, Lola served as a government employee for over 40 years in Bohol, Philippines. Before her retirement, she was once the Assistant Provincial Treasurer in Bohol, Philippines. She was deeply dedicated to education and personal growth, attending college while working and earned bachelor’s degrees in Agriculture, Accounting, and Law — she was truly a woman of all trades. She had a deep love for sewing and tailoring, took pride in gardening, and was also a devoted Boston sports fan, especially when it came to the Boston Red Sox. Above all, her family was the thing she cherished most. She will be greatly missed.
Lola is survived by her children Gloria Peligro Oreste, and her husband Ricardo Oreste of Canton, and Ma. Arpele P. Raynaldo of the Philippines. She was preceded in death by two children. She leaves behind her 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandkids. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
