Genevieve (DiRienzo) McNally, 91, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born and raised in Hyde Park, daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Campia) DiRienzo, she was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, Class of 1952 and also graduated from Burdett Business School. In July of 1955, she married Richard J. McNally, and together they enjoyed over 70 years of marriage and raised their two beloved daughters, before his passing in November, 2025.
She was a dedicated homemaker and mother who, after raising her children, worked as a Manager at McDonalds in Stoughton and was a mentor and friend to many of the young people working there. Later she worked as a Customer Service Representative at Alimed in Dedham for over 17 years, retiring in 2008. She was a communicant of the Our Lady of the Rosary Church, where she was also a Eucharistic Minister, and at the Immaculate Conception Church, both in Stoughton.
Genevieve enjoyed traveling with her husband Richard and had fond memories of their cruises and trips to Bermuda, Alaska and Hawaii. She enjoyed watching soap operas, mysteries and crime shows, but her favorite memories were being surrounded by her beloved family and her friends.
Genevieve is survived by her two daughters and their families; Linda J. McNally-Cohen and her husband Joel E. Cohen, of Stoughton and Paula Cullen and her husband Timothy of TX. She was the grandmother of Lt. Mikaela Sakach, USNR and her husband SSG Coady Glanden, USMC, Sophia Cullen, Gabriella Cullen and Gianna Hutto and her husband Austin. She was the great grandmother of Francesca Jackson. Genevieve was the sister of Alice Coccia of Norwood and the late Joseph DiRienzo and Phillip DiRienzo and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in Genevieve’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
