George L. Holyoke, 71, died Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was the husband of Kimberly (Gaston) Holyoke of Stoughton. Born in Brockton, son of the late Edward and June R. (Kelley) Holyoke, he was raised and educated in East Bridgewater and was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 20 years, previously living and raising his family in Randolph for many years. George worked in construction for many years for Ed McCloud at Sequoia Construction and for the Flatley Company. He retired several years ago. He was a former member of the Commercial Club in East Bridgewater. In his younger years, George enjoyed playing basketball, tennis and football in various Men’s Leagues and was a former Pop Warner and Little League Coach in Randolph. He enjoyed the laughter and fellowship of good friends and was always the life of the party. George was a longtime Boston Sports fan and enjoyed watching College Football, gangster movies and the History Channel. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Kimberly, he is survived by his children, Lisa Marie Holyoke Byron and her husband Michael of FL, Brian J. Holyoke of Randolph and Kristin Rivera and her husband James of MD. He was the stepfather of Robbie Gaston of E. Boston. George was the grandfather of Abby Holyoke, Taylor Byron, Genevieve, and Camden Rivera. He was the brother of Bradford Holyoke and his wife Cathy of ME and the late June R. Elwood, Edward C. Holyoke and Arthur “Art” Holyoke and the former husband of Barbara (Meaney) Holyoke of Randolph. He is also survived by his in-laws, Ellen Milling of Stoughton and Robert Gaston of Quincy and his beloved cat Dylan. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, September 23rd from 10-11:30 AM, with a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM.
