Gina M. (Branco) Costeira, 49, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of Manuel H. Branco of Stoughton and the late Maria E. (Mendonca) Branco. She was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1991. She always valued the importance of education, which she instilled in her daughters. She had a lengthy career at DXL in Canton where she worked for 23 loyal years until she became a stay-at-home mom. She was a longtime supporter and committed fundraiser of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN where she raised thousands of dollars for the charity throughout the course of her life. Gina loved spending time at her home down the cape in Chatham and walks on the beach. She also loved photography, gardening, baking, shopping, and most of all, traveling. She has been to many places and loved vacationing with her family to Italy, Turks and Caicos, National Parks, and many more, but most of all, Hawaii. She was loyal and devoted to her family. She committed all her time to taking care of those she cared for. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially with her daughters. She never missed any of their events or commitments. Her daughters were the light of her life, and her greatest pride and joy in life was being a mother.
Gina was the deeply devoted mother of Kaitlyn M. Costeira and Stephanie D. Costeira both of Stoughton and the loving sister of Maria F. Freitas and her husband Norman of Stoughton and Richard M. Branco and his wife Anna of Bridgewater. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family members and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday, February 17 at 10:30 AM. Visitation and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gina‘s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
