Giovanna Raineri

Giovanna Raineri 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Dorchester on Thursday December 10, 2020. She was a longtime resident of Boston, and grew up in the North End. She fiercely loved the North End and enjoyed the many festivals there every year. She was a standing member of Madonna Della Cava Society, one of the social clubs there. If she wasn't found there, she was working on her tan at the edge of some body of water ear buds in tow. She absolutely adored her 2 cats Peanut and Pepper that were very special to her. Giovanna finally settled at the Keystone Apartments in Dorchester. While there, she was active in the community, and enjoyed organizing events to bring folks together. She loved having a good time. She was passionate in helping others by taking care of those around her whenever she could. Gio took great pleasure in cooking Italian meals for her family, and loved eating as well. She held her family very dear to her heart and loved being with them anytime she could. Giovanna especially took a liking to oldies music, and could be found rocking in her car to The Cadillacs. Her love for dancing, singing, and entertaining, all would agree, Gio was the life of the party.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Jeannette (Levesque) Raineri. She was the devoted mother of Kimberly Mooney and her husband James of Stoughton, and Korin Natarelli and her partner Mirella Sanabria of Florida. She was the cherished grandmother of Morgan and Jake Mooney, and Alexander Garcia and his wife Jennaira of Dade City, FL. She was also the great grandmother to Jaidyn Garcia. She is predeceased by some of her siblings – the late Richard, Carol Ann and Arthur and was the loving sister to Theresa and Kathy Ann. Her cousin Yvonne Venuti (husband Michael) was like a sister to her. She was a loving aunt to Michele Accolla (and her children Tyler, Treanna and Colton); Francesca Raineri and William Newcomb. She also had multiple extended family members in Kentucky, Tennessee and Lawrence, MA that she adored.
