Heinz W. Frey

Heinz W. Frey, 82, of Stoughton, formerly of Easton and Switzerland, died peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022.  He was the husband of Alice P. “Pat” (Cronk) Frey.  Born, raised and educated in Gottenschweil, Switzerland, he came to the US in 1974 and settled in Easton.  He was a resident of Easton until 2008 when he moved to Stoughton.  Heinz was a longtime employee of Children’s Hospital in Boston where he retired as the Foreman of the Landscaping Department at age 55. Heinz was a member of the Swiss Society of Boston.  In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, puzzles and dining out.  A fan of John Wayne, he enjoyed watching TV Westerns and also enjoyed traveling, notably to Bermuda and to Lake Winnipesaukee. 

 

In addition to his wife Pat, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Baumberger and her husband Martin of Canada and his stepdaughter Christina Hedio of Attleboro. He was predeceased by his son Heinz M. Frey and his stepson Michael Hedio.  He was the grandfather of Michael, Samuel and Philly Baumberger, Sophia St. James and John Michael Hedio.  He is also survived by his brother in law Wylie F. Cronk and his wife Eileen of Rockland. 

 

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 4-6 with Funeral Prayers at 6 PM.  Donations in Heinz’s memory may be made to Children’s Hospital, 401 Park Dr., Suite 601, Boston, MA 02215.
