Helen M. (Corrigan) McFadyen, 76, died Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Arthur T. McFadyen. Born and raised in Hyde Park, she was a graduate of Boston Catholic Schools and Boston College. She later earned her MBA from Suffolk University. Helen was a resident of Stoughton for over 30 years. Helen had a long and successful career as a Professor of Computer Science and Business at Massachusetts Bay Community College. Her career spanned over 3 decades and she touched the lives of hundreds of students. She also taught at Boston College. She was a member of the Mass Teachers Association. A communicant of St. Oscar Romero Church and the former St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton, she enjoyed gardening and baking and was famous for her Magic Chocolate Squares. She also enjoyed shopping at the Wrentham Outlets and dining out at the 99 and several area breakfast spots. Her favorite memories were spent surrounded by her loved ones.
Helen is survived by her children, Donna E. Prisco and her husband Steven and Michael D. McFadyen, all of Stoughton. She was the beloved “Meme” of Stephen Prisco, Matthew Prisco and Melanie E. McFadyen. Helen was the sister of Mary Durgan of IL, Paula Reveliotis of Charlestown and the late Joan Leer and Jack Corrigan. She is also survived by her lifelong friends, Walter, Anne Marie, Carole, Kathy, Kris and Christine as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the St. Oscar Romero Church, Canton at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park.
