Irene DeMarco

Irene (Tully) DeMarco, 94, died Monday, August 15, 2022, at the LifeCare of West Bridgewater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born and raised in Boston, she was a graduate of Boston Schools.  In 1946 she married Joseph A. DeMarco, and together they enjoyed 73 years of marriage before his death in 2019.  Irene was a resident of Avon since 1953.  She worked as a Cafeteria Manager at the Avon Public Schools for over 25 years, retiring in 1989.  Irene enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods, cooking, reading, spending time at casinos and her annual Maine vacations.  She was a longtime volunteer at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.  In her free time, enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

 

Irene is survived by her daughter Susan Garvin and her husband Jerome of Easton and her grandchildren, Janet Lind and Paul Kibbee.  She was the great grandmother of Logan Lind, Brianna Kibbee and Victoria Kibbee.   She was the sister of Peggy Phillips of Washington, Mary Kaligian of Easton and the late Ann Heenan, Dorothy Estano, Thomas Tully and James Tully. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, 87 N. Main St., Avon, on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 10 AM.  Burial will be private.  Donations in Irene’s memory may be made it to the Chapel of Our Lady at the Good Samaritan Medical Center, 235 N. Pearl St., Brockton, 02301.
