Jack M. Faria, 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Boston Medical Center South on Monday, September 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Pearl A. Faria for 59 years. Son of the late Maria (Faria) Rodrigues and her husband Manuel, he was born and raised on the island of Faial in the Azores, Portugal before coming to the United States and settling in Stoughton. He was a member of Club Luis de Camoes, Portuguese National Club and Sociedade Filarmónica De São João all in Stoughton. A hardworking and determined man, Jack was the proud owner of Faria Oil Company in Stoughton for over 40 years. His business was a reflection of his dedication, reliability, and commitment to the people he served. Jack took great care of his customers and was known for always being willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed him. Whether driving the carpool van to Randy’s, casting a line in hopes of catching a striper every Sunday, or simply grabbing a cup of coffee with the “crew”, Jack gave his time generously and without hesitation. He enjoyed camping in his motorhome and attending car shows with one of his many classic hot rods, but his greatest joys were the memories made spending time and traveling with his family.
Jack leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be lovingly cherished by his family and friends. He was a loving husband, a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a generous neighbor. His kindness, strength, humor, and unwavering willingness to help will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children, Robin M. Nunes and her husband Maurice of Foxboro and Shawn M. Faria and his wife Jacqueline of Stoughton as well as his grandchildren, Cassandra Faria, Rachel Nunes, Kayla Nunes, and Nathan Faria. He was the brother of Mary Belcher of Pembroke and Cathy Pernock of Stoughton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 10 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, September 11 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
