Jacqueline M. (Gillis) Weeks

Jacqueline M. (Gillis) Weeks, 79, died Saturday, November 27, 2021 at her home in Bourne, after a long period of declining health. Born and raised in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, she was a graduate of St. Michael's High School in Glace Bay. She was the dedicated mother of 5 children and came to the States in 1968 and settled in Stoughton, where she made her home for over 50 years, before moving to Bourne three years ago to be closer to her family. While raising her family and attending college, she worked nights at Dunkin Donuts in Stoughton, and, in between shuttling her children between hockey rinks, concerts and other events, she attended and graduated from both Massasoit Community College and later Bridgewater State College with her degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton for many years, retiring as the Head Charge Nurse over 15 years ago. Jackie was a dedicated and beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was a devoted hockey mom and also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for several years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

Mrs. Weeks was the mother of John G. Weeks and his wife Sandra, Stephen G. Weeks and his girlfriend Sue Hawes and Bradley V. Weeks and his wife Vanessa all of Bourne, Susan J. Sablone of W. Wareham and the late David L. Weeks. She was the grandmother of David C. Weeks, Colette M. Weeks, Amy C. Weeks, Ashley A. Burke, Brenda K. Weeks, Alyssa M. Weeks and Zachary T. West. She was the great grandmother of Maeve M. Covell. Jackie was the sister of Danny Gillis of Canada, Linda Divinagracia and Judy Ludwig both of FL, Sherri Sullivan of AZ, Debbie Scioli of N. Reading and the late Elizabeth "Babe" Gillard and Stephen Gillis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Burial will take place next to her son David at Maplewood Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Jackie's memory may be made to the Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, MA 02360.
