James Peter Lovett

James Peter Lovett, 51, a resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Kristine A. “Krissy” (Tolman) Lovett. Son of John R. and Helen (Merrigan) Lovett of Jamaica Plain, he was born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain.  Jim was a graduate of Boston Latin School, Class of 1989 and earned his Associate Degree from the Stockbridge School at UMass-Amherst. He resided in Quincy for 8 years before living in Stoughton for the past 6 years. Jim worked for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation for 18 years and finished his career as the superintendent at Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton. He was an avid Boston sports fan and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his little sidekick, John.

Jim’s family would like to thank the staff at Copley at Stoughton for their wonderful care over the past few years.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jim is survived by his son, John D. Lovett of Stoughton. He was the brother of Elizabeth Hood and her husband Christopher of Marshfield, David Lovett and his wife Julie of Daly City, CA and the late John R. Lovett and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, May 17 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
