James H. Martin

James Henry Martin, 78, a longtime resident of Bridgewater, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 15, 2022. He was the husband of Carol Ann (Naas) Martin for 50 years. Son of the late Henry and Mary Madelyn (Sullivan) Martin, he was born and raised in Brockton. He was a graduate of Brockton High School. He resided in Bridgewater for the past 50 years. James worked for Verizon for over 40 years before retiring at age 65. He was active in the Bridgewater Youth Soccer Association for years. He enjoyed playing golf, swimming, skiing and fixing things around his house but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his son, Brendan J. Martin of Boston. He was the brother of Jeanne Martin of Brockton. He was the brother-in-law of Mary Lou Costello and her husband Tom and Joe Naas and his wife Carol and uncle of Matthew Costello, Kevin Costello, Tara Burns and Rachael McNamara.

Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, June 4th at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 10-11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (for Parkinson's Research), Donation Processing, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
