James L. McGill, of Stoughton, 75, passed away at home on October 10, 2020. He was the devoted husband to Elaine (Minsk) McGill for 53 loving years. Born on December 20, 1944 in Boston, he was the cherished son of the late Leroy James McGill and Marion (Cashman) McGill. He was the beloved father of James L. McGill, Jr., and his wife Erin and Christine E. Nash and her husband Dennis. James is also lovingly survived by his 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Ally and Nicole McGill, Kayla Martin, Ryan, Abigail, and Sophie Nash. He is also survived by his dearest sister Noreen Lucchesi and her husband Nedo, and his brother Tom Sanford and his wife Sheryl, and the late Paul McGill. He leaves behind many special nieces and nephews, as well as cousins and friends.
Jim served 6 years in the National Guard, and loved traveling with Elaine. He loved watching all sports on television, politics and reading in his spare time.
A private funeral service for the family will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton, followed by private interment at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Jim's memory may be a charity of your choice.
