James A. Theobald, 55, died July 9, 2020, at his home in Whitman. He was the son of the late John F. and Helen M. (Bryson) Theobald. Born in Brockton, he was raised in Stoughton and surrounding towns and was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Technical High School in Easton, Class of 1983. He was a Proud Veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving in the Persian Gulf. He earned several Awards of Merit and Commendations while in the Corps and was Honorably Discharged in 1991 after 4 years of service. He was a gifted Diesel Mechanic, working for several area shops. An avid sports fan, in his free time, he enjoyed rooting for the Patriots, Red Sox and the Bruins, and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Theobald is survived by his beloved daughter Grace Ciulla of Raynham, and his siblings; John F. "Jack" Theobald of Taunton, Mark S. Theobald of Bridgewater, Deborah A. Callahan of NH, Cynthia L. Shackleton of Mansfield, Sandra M. Fenton of Brockton and Sylvia L. Hamdeed of Holbrook. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, July 31 at 12 PM with visitation prior from 10AM-12PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:15 PM.
