James J. Williamson

James J. Williamson, Jr., 98, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Norwood Hospital on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. He was the husband of the late Olive E. (Johnson) Williamson. Son of the late James J. and Gertrude (Earle) Williamson, he was born and raised in Cambridge and graduated from Rindge Tech, Class of 1939. James was an Aviation Cadet in the Army Air Corps and a Veteran of World War II. He resided in Stoughton for over 60 years. James was a foreman machinist at the Boston Naval Shipyard for 32 years before retiring in 1973. He also worked for the Civil Conservation Corps. James was a member of the International Association of Machinists, the American Legion Post 89 in Stoughton and the Blue Hill Masonic Lodge in Canton. He enjoyed music, computers, gardening and woodworking.

James is survived by his children, Cheryl E. Andrade and her husband John of Taunton and James J. Williamson, III and his wife Ellen of Wells, ME, as well as his grandchildren, Holly J. Perkins, James J. Williamson, IV and Lisa A. McIntyre. He was the brother of the late Robert E. Williamson, John E. Williamson and Doris Phelan. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Tuesday at 12 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 11 AM – 12 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in James' memory may be made to The Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135.
