Janet Marie (Trainor) Hannon, 75, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton on Thursday, August 27, 2026 with her loving children by her side. She was the wife of the late William F. Hannon. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Frederick and Rosemary (Walsh) Trainor. Janet was raised in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School, Class of 1969 and the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. She resided in Stoughton for 35 years. Janet worked at United Liquors in West Bridgewater and B.J.’s in Stoughton for many years before retiring 20 years ago. She loved going to Jimmy Buffett concerts and her yearly trips to Aruba but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Janet is survived by her children, Michael L. Gargiulo of Danvers, Nancy J. Gargiulo of Norwood and William M. Hannon and his wife Leanne of Canton as well as her grandchildren, Zachary Gargiulo, Joshua Gargiulo, William Hannon and Lucy Hannon. She was the sister of Patricia Scollins of Norwood and Joan Poggi and her husband Steven of Hampstead, NH. She was the aunt of Suzanne Flynn and Kristen Mihalio both of Franklin, Jenna Forzese of Hampstead, NH, and the late Gregory Poggi. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Casey.
