Jeannette (Whooley) Doyle

Jeannette (Whooley) Doyle, 88, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on June 13th, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John J. “Jack” Doyle for 63 years. Daughter of the late John C. and Margaret V. (Pate) Whooley, Jeannette was born in Boston and raised in Roxbury. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1953 and Boston City Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1956. Jeannette was a Registered Nurse at Carney Hospital in Dorchester for over 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was a proud nurse who loved the flexibility of working part time to care for her patients, while still being home to care for her children. She enjoyed traveling and lunches with friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Jeannette is survived by her children, Jeannette M. Doyle-Gay and John J. Doyle Jr. both of Stoughton, Dianne M. Doyle of Norton, Kathleen M. McCormack of Easton and her dear cousin Judy Ward of West Roxbury. Jeannette was also the mother of the late Michael J. Doyle. She was the sister of John Whooley of Florida and the late James and Joseph Whooley. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, June 17th, from 4-7 PM.  Funeral will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 18th at 8:45 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Easton at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
