Obituary

Joanne M. Malcom, 82, formerly of North Branford, CT passed away peacefully at Cornerstone in Canton on July 27, 2026. She was predeceased in 2023 by her loving husband of 45 years, Terry L. Malcom whom she deeply missed.

Born in New Haven, CT she was the daughter of Stephen F. Monaco and Ida (Silvestri) Monaco, and was educated at New Haven High School, graduating Class of 1961. Joanne worked for New England Telephone Company for 22 years until the birth of her daughter, Jennifer. She later worked at the Nursery on Notch Hill in North Branford for 15 years before her retirement. She was a longtime parishioner of North Branford Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Joanne enjoyed traveling, Disney World and shopping. Above all, she was dedicated to her loving family and will be greatly missed.

Joanne is survived by her daughter Jennifer Cronin and her husband Stephen of Norwood and her stepson, Ralph W. Malcom and former daughter-in-law Christine Cassarino of Connecticut. She was the beloved grandmother of Audrey and Jack Cronin, Matthew, Christopher and Patrick Malcom.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Friday, July 31 from 10-11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to the North Branford Congregational Church, 1680 Foxon Rd., N. Branford, CT 06471.
