John Beck of Centerville, MA, 92 years old, passed away after a brief illness on October 23, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 15, 1931 to his parents Hilda and John Beck Sr. He had a happy childhood with his younger sister Gail and surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

At age 17, he joined the Air Force and trained to be an aviation mechanic. He was first stationed in the Azores Islands and when he came home on leave, he met Rose Grande on a blind date for New Year's Eve in 1949. They spent a week together and then he returned to the Azores where they became pen pals and eventually married in 1952. John was later stationed at Andrews Air Force base outside of Washington, DC where he began his career working on Air Force One. He served proudly under Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. He often remarked about what a great time this was in his life and the close bonds he developed with the others he worked with. John and Rose loved the Maryland/ DC area and raised their daughter there. In 1987, they moved to Centerville MA on Cape Cod to be near their daughter and granddaughter. On the Cape, John worked as a bank currier and loved driving along the beautiful Cape roads. John's hobbies included going to the beach frequently, bird watching, gardening, watching football and baseball and traveling. He and Rose loved sightseeing in America, the Caribbean and Europe. Mostly he loved spending time with his family.

John is survived by his daughter, Joanne Rose of Walpole, and his granddaughter, Lauren Baez and his great grandchildren, Katerina, Romeo and Christopher. He is also survived by 4 nephews.
