John Cintron Cruz

John Cintron Cruz, 68, died Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at his home in Brockton, surrounded by the love of his family, after a long illness. He was the husband of Noemi Montero. Born in The Bronx in New York City, he was raised and educated in Puerto Rico and, in the late 1970’s, returned to the US and settled in Boston. He spent many years in Dorchester and Jamaica Plain before moving to Brockton in 2018. He was a former member of the US Army Reserves. John was known for his ability to fix almost anything, and he worked in the Maintenance Department at the Dimock Community Center in Jamaica Plain for many years. He loved entertaining friends and family and looked forward to his annual Pig Roast and making his famous Pernil. John loved salsa dancing, music, playing pool and dominoes and, above all, spending time with his beloved family.

In addition to his wife Noemi Montero of Brockton, John is survived by his children, John Cintron Jr., Joanne Cintron, Jovan Cintron, Jonathan Cintron, John Anthony Cintron, Jonmarie Cintron, Wendy Pena, Michelle Holloway, Ambar Pena, Kathy Lanci and Jeamie Gonzalez. He was the grandfather of Joshua, Jovani, Enrique, Antonio, Julian, Aniyah, Arturo, Kairi, Lily, Aria, Lina, Rosalia, Nathaniel, Milana and Liana. John was the brother of Mary Cintron, Alicia Cintron, Jenny Cintron, Ulises Amaro, Daniel Amaro, Marcelino Amaro, Carlos Amaro, Ivette Amaro, Brenda Amaro, Edgardo Berrios, John Cintron, Anthony Cintron, Geraldo Cintron, Robert Cintron and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Donations in John’s memory may be made to St. James Church at the above address.
