John Henry Vincent, 89, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Thursday, September 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Concetta A. “Connie” (Chillemi) Vincent for 66 years.  Son of the late Mack L. and Anna L. (Blitch) Vincent, he was born in Stilson, GA and raised in Milford, DE.  He was a graduate of Milford High School.  John served in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War.  He resided in Stoughton since 1975.  He was an HVAC engineer for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston for 19 years before retiring in 1995.  He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1645 in Stoughton, South Shore HOG in Bridgewater, Retreads Motorcycle Club in Merrimack and Harley Owners Group (HOG) in Abington.

 

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Michael A. Vincent and his wife Sari of Rutland, VT, David W. Vincent and his partner Cathy Auclair of Dover, NH, John M. Vincent and his wife Arlene of Middleboro, Cynthia A. Carberry and her husband Joseph of Plymouth, Laura M. Ronan and her husband Rick of Tiverton, RI and Karen P. Vincent of Niantic, CT.  He was the brother of the late H. Thurman Vincent and Raymond L. Vincent.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, September 12 from 4-7 PM.  Funeral Service will be at Farley Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 13 at 11:30 AM.  Interment will be private at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.  In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
