Jose Manuel Gomez Zapata

Jose Manuel Gomez Zapata, 81, a resident of Chelsea, died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 19, 2020. He was the husband of Eridania Argentina Rodriguez for 55 years. Son of the late Jose Antonio Gomez Almonte and Ana (Mercedes) Caba, he was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. Jose was a resident of Chelsea for over 15 years. He was an entrepreneur in the furniture industry for many years. He enjoyed playing pool and dominos, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Jose is survived by his son, Jose Manuel Gomez Rodriguez and his wife Rosanna Gomez of Brockton, as well as his grandchildren, Anel Hall and her husband Richard Hall, Jr., Arlene Peddy and her husband Quintin Peddy, Amanda Gomez and Jose Gomez. He was the great-grandfather of Jalisiyah, Johnathan and Javien Peddy and Skylah and Ava Hall. He was the brother of Neida, Rafael Antonio, Gladys, Nelsi, Marolin and Jose Antonio Gomez Peralta, Dulce, Wilfredo, Jose and Jose Antonio Gomez Morel, Gilma Gomez Zapata and Jose Del Carmen Taveras and Luis Gutierrez Gomez and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to the coronavirus, funeral services are private. Interment will take place at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
