Jose Antonio Franco Ribeiro, age 73, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away on December 30, 2025, at Boston Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Gonçalves) Ribeiro for 50 loving years. Born and raised in Madeira, Portugal, he was the son of the late Maria (Franco) Ribeiro and Antonio Ribeiro. Known for his strong work ethic and reliability, he retired in 2017. Jose was a lifetime member of the Portuguese National Club in Stoughton and was deeply involved in the Portuguese community. He took great pride in participating in local Portuguese feasts, parades, and community events. Always willing to lend a hand, Jose was known as someone others could depend on. He especially took pride in building things for friends and loved ones, enjoyed watching his favorite sports team, Sporting CP, and gardening and being outside, but above all found his greatest joy in spending time with his family.
In addition to his dear wife Maria, Jose is survived by his children Elizabeth Mace and her husband Aaron of Walpole, Sonia Caruso and her husband Russell of Weymouth, Kelly Ribeiro and her husband Shawn Maloney of Worcester, Steve Ribeiro and his wife Mary Barton of Foxboro, Amanda Haskins and her husband Sean of Tewksbury, and was preceded in death by his son Jerry Ribeiro.
