Joseph E. Sprissler

Joseph E. Sprissler, a longtime resident of Brockton, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Born in Boston, son of CMSgt. Theodore and Helen (Murphy) Sprissler, he was raised in Boston and Brockton and was a 1974 graduate of Brockton High School.  Joe was a longtime employee of Shaw’s Supermarkets in Brockton, Randolph and Easton.  He was an avid sports fan, a former Little League Umpire and enjoyed bowling and playing video and computer games in his free time. 

Joseph was the brother of Helen M. Sprissler of Brockton and the late Theodore T. Sprissler, Robert J. Sprissler, Michael P. Sprissler, Barbara I. Sprissler and Christine A. Nordstrom.  He is also survived by his brother in law Carl Nordstrom of Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 10 AM – 12 Noon with Funeral Prayers to follow at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Pl W., Boston, MA 02215.
