Judith A. (Raymond) Barrett

Judith A. (Raymond) Barrett, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully Friday, October 7, 2022 surrounded by family in California, after a short period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Thomas C. Barrett. Born and raised in Easton, she was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School. In 1960 she and Tom wed, and together they raised 4 children and enjoyed over 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2017. Judy was a resident of Stoughton for most of her life before moving to California to be closer to her daughters. When her children were young she was active in local politics and as a volunteer in many of the sports they participated in. She worked in travel for several different agencies and made many lifelong friends there. Judy and Tom were avid travelers, travelers andand traveled the world many times.

She was a dedicated and beloved wife, mother and grandmother. While living in California she regularly traveled across the country to visit her children and grandchildren. When she was back home, she was doting on Sophie and planning her next trip to Paris.

Judy is survived by her loving children, John B. Barrett and his wife Barbara, James H. Barrett and his wife Dawn, both of FL, and Johnna L. Lazicki, her husband David and Janell A. Barrett and James Jones of CA. She was the adored Mimi of her grandchildren: Zachary, Justin, Darby, Sophie, Jenah, Bellah, Forbes and Luke. She will also be missed by an amazing group of loving friends, most of whom she has known her whole life, and many more that she met while in California.

The Family will be having a small gathering in Stoughton on Saturday November 19th 20, 2022, from 2-5PM at a private residence. Please reach out to JanellJones07@gmail.com for the address if you would like to attend.

In lieu of flowers, Judy would have preferred if everyone who knew her traveled as often as possible in her memory.
