Judith (Baron) Lazarus

Judith “Judie” (Baron) Lazarus, 87, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, July 19, 2026. She was the wife of the late Jack “Jocko” Lazarus. Daughter of the late Murray and Ethel (Klayman) Baron, she was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. Judie was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1957. She resided in Brockton for 50 years. She was a bookkeeper in the banking industry and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department. She was a breast cancer survivor twice. She enjoyed trips to casinos in her free time and she was known for her unmatched baking skills.

Judie was the mother of the late Richard S. Lazarus and his surviving wife Loretta of Marietta, GA. She was the stepmother of Pamela Wolfe and her partner Jerry Blockner of West Roxbury. She was the sister of Vicki Murphy of La Vernia, TX and the late Sidney Baron and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held from Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon on Friday, July 24 at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judie‘s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
