Julia B. (Bassett) Lowell, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Easton on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, with her daughter Julie Lowell by her side. She suffered from a long illness. Julia was born on May 9, 1938 in Whitman, to the late George H. Bassett I and Amanda B. (Morgan). She was the sister of George H. Bassett II of Nantucket, Bonnie J. Fauteux of New Bedford and the late Joanne V. Dupre, and the late Richard A. Bassett She was raised in Barnstable and West Bridgewater and was a 1956 graduate of West Bridgewater High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for 20 years then moved to Carver to be near her grandchildren and enjoyed living there across from the lake. When her grandchildren grew, she decided to retire in Deltona, FL for 10 years.

Mrs. Lowell worked as an Accounts Payable Supervisor at Hit or Miss Corporate Offices in Stoughton for over 25 years, retiring in 1993. After her retirement, she returned to work at Tech-Etch in Plymouth and retired 8 years later. She was a member of the Francis Cook Colony of the Mayflower Society and the Col. Arthur Irwin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, both in FL. In her free time, she enjoyed camping at Canoe River Campground in East Mansfield, playing cribbage and horseshoes. She also enjoyed crochet and ceramics and making gifts for her family.

Mrs. Lowell is survived by her 3 daughters; Melanie A. Beach and her husband Lawrence T. of Carver and FL, Laurie L. Lowell of Carver, Julia B. Lowell of Easton and she was the mother of the late Kelly J. Lowell. She was the grandmother of Jennifer Santagate, Jody Santagate, Melanie Beaulieu, James Deming, Zachary Simison and the late David J. MacNeill. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held in the Pine Hill Cemetery, 483 Main St. at Copeland St., West Bridgewater on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 12:30 PM. Visiting Hours Omitted. Donations in her name may be made to the Seasons Hospice, 597 Randolph Ave., Milton, MA 02186.
