Karen M. (Addison) Gay

Karen M. (Addison) Gay, 74, a resident of Stoughton, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully at home on Monday, December 14, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul F. Gay. Daughter of the late Edward L. and Greta C. (McHugh) Addison, she was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. Karen was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1964. She resided in Brockton for 55 years before returning to Stoughton earlier this year. Karen was an accountant at Paramount Rug in Brockton for 4 years and worked as a bartender at the VFW Post 1645, AMVETS Post 1977 and Porter Street Pub all in Stoughton for 30 years before retiring in 2019. She was a member of the AMVETS and VFW Women's Auxiliaries in Stoughton. She enjoyed reading, cooking and sewing but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her children, Lisa M. Monteiro and her fiance Shawn Selden and Paul F. Gay, Jr. and his girlfriend Elizabeth Chisholm all of West Wareham and Stacey L. Teixeira and her husband Luis of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Michelle, Alicia, Angelica, Katrina, Maddison and Tyler and the great-grandmother of Braylee, Aiden and Triston. She was the sister of Roberta McLea of Wareham, Jeannie Leonard of Canton and the late Edward Addison, Jr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, funeral services will be private. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's name may be made to the Pan-Mass Challenge, 77 4th Avenue, Needham, MA 02494.
