Karen L. (Fucillo) Thomas

Karen Louise (Fucillo) Thomas, 64, a resident of Canton, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the wife of John T. “Jack” Thomas for 23 loving years.  Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Jean L. (Fitzgerald) Fucillo.  She was raised and educated in Hyde Park, graduating from Hyde Park High School, Class of 1976.  Karen was a clerk at the Boston Police Department for 20 years before retiring in 2001. She resided in Falmouth for 12 years before moving to Canton 14 years ago.  She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean and Aruba.  She also loved attending her grandsons sporting events and having fun spending time with her nephews.  Above all, she cherished her family dearly and loved spending time with them, especially her grandsons.

In addition to her beloved husband Jack, Karen is survived by her stepson, Terry J. Thomas and his wife Laura of Canton as well as her grandsons, John and Michael Thomas.  She was the sister of Christine M. Sullivan and her husband Lawrence of Dedham. She was the aunt of Daniel and Matthew Sullivan and the great-aunt of Keira and Phoebe Sullivan.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) Stoughton, on Thursday, December 28 from 9-11 AM followed by Funeral Prayers at 11 AM.  Interment will be held at Canton Corner Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen’s name may be made to MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130 (www.mspca.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
