Kenneth MacNeil, 60, died Thursday, January 10, 2019, at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of 25 years of Alison C. (Cohen) MacNeil. Born in Boston, he was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. Mr. MacNeil was a proud townie and lifelong resident of Stoughton. He was the Chef at Maxie's Delicatessen in Stoughton for over 25 years. A New England sports fan, Kenny enjoyed fishing with his daughters, grilling and entertaining for family and friends and going on cruises with his wife. He was a devoted family man whose cheerful attitude and positive outlook would always brighten the day. He was a true "mensch."
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters; Jillian C. Lopriore and her husband Michael of Lynn and Rochelle C. MacNeil of Stoughton. He was the brother of C. Thomas MacNeil of Weymouth and Brian M. MacNeil of Stoughton and the late Diane MacNeil. Ken was the son of the late Peter and Catherine (Norton) MacNeil and was the son-in-law of Phyllis T. Cohen and Samuel Goldsmith and the late Martin S. Cohen. He was the grandfather of Luca, Sydney and Milo Lopriore and the brother-in-law of William Cohen and his wife Glenda of FL, and Jodi Cohen of Canton. He was the uncle of Colleen, Michael, Brian and Magan MacNeil, Staci, Jonathan and Daniel Cohen and the late Katie MacNeil.
A wake will be held at Farley Funeral Home (358 Park St, Stoughton, MA 02072) on Monday, January 14 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a service at 7:00pm. Following a private burial, the family will observe shiva at his late residence between 4:00pm-6:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm on Wednesday January 16, Thursday January 17, and Sunday January 20.
