Lauren G. (Purpora) Abbondandolo, 67, died suddenly on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Boston Medical Center South in Brockton. Born and raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy Schools and of Aquinas Junior College in Quincy. In 1981, she married Rocco Abbondandolo, and together they enjoyed over 45 years of marriage and raised their two beloved children. They moved to Stoughton in 1981. Lauren worked for the Massachusetts Lottery in the Finance Department for over 40 years, retiring in 2019. She was a dedicated wife and mother who loved gardening and scrap booking. Lauren enjoyed doing arts and crafts, interior designing and helping those in need. Lauren and Rocco loved to travel, and they have fond memories of their trips to Russia, Brazil and Italy as well as their trips up and down the east coast of the United States. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Pembroke Knights of Columbus and fishing on Little Pond in Plymouth. Recently she cherished the time spent with her daughter Alysa helping to plan her upcoming wedding on September 19. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband Rocco, she is survived by her children, Anthony M. Abbondandolo of Revere and Alysa L. Abbondandolo and her fiancé Paul Seyfert of Pembroke. She was the sister of Judith Campanale of Weymouth, Jeannie Alman of FL, Paul Purpora of NH, Janet Tantillo of Rockland and the late Richard Purpora. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Donations in Lauren’s memory may be made to Wounded Warriors, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
