Lillian M. (Grubenskas) Cohenno, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the remarkable age of 101. Generous in spirit and deeply rooted in her community, Lillian spent her final years in the caring hands of Copley at Stoughton. She is now reunited in peace with her beloved husband, the late Hanlon D. Cohenno.

Born in Stoughton to the late Peter and Anna (Lauckas) Grubenskas, Lillian's heart always belonged to her hometown. She proudly graduated from Stoughton High School with the Class of 1943, and for the rest of her life, she took great joy in attending class reunions and keeping in close, lifelong contact with her classmates.

Lillian's life was defined by the purpose and joy she found in nurturing others. While her daughters were growing up, she dedicated herself wholly to making a warm and loving home for her family. Later, she shared her welcoming presence as a receptionist at Macy's Hair Salon in Brockton for ten years. Her kindness extended into the community through her volunteer work as a first-grade teacher's assistant at Jones Elementary School, and she remained proud of her Lithuanian heritage as a longtime member of the Lithuanian Women's Club of Stoughton. Lillian found happiness in traveling, baking, sewing, and reading, and in her 90s she discovered a talent for painting. Through it all, she remained a true friend to all she met.

Lillian's legacy of love lives on through her family. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Longo and her partner Alan Ball, and Susan Rock and her husband Daniel of Stoughton. She was the cherished grandmother of Dr. Meagan Painter and her husband Andrew, and adoring great-grandmother of Claire Lillian Painter. Preceded in death by her siblings, John Grubenskas, Kay Grubenskas, and Albina Smith, Lillian also leaves behind many loving family members and special friends, including Mary and Mark Hinchey, who brought much joy to her life.

The family wishes to extend its deepest, heartfelt gratitude to Steve Tyer and the wonderful staff at Copley at Stoughton for the exceptional kindness, comfort, and tender care they so freely gave to Lillian. In her remaining days, West River Care offered great support and kindness.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton.  Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
