Linda Jean (Simoes) Cofran, 75, a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the family that meant everything to her. She was the beloved wife of Jim Cofran, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage.
Though she discovered later in life that her actual birthdate was October 11, 1950, her family always lovingly celebrated her on "Ten-Ten"—a cherished tradition that stuck with them through the years. Linda was the daughter of the late Manuel and Angelina (Giammasi) Simoes . Born and raised in Hydepark,Ma she attended Boston Schools. Linda grew up on "The Ave" as part of a vibrant, large Italian family, an upbringing that shaped her lifelong devotion to community and togetherness. As a dedicated homemaker, Linda poured her entire heart into creating a warm, welcoming home for her husband and their four beautiful daughters.
Family was Linda’s true North. She embraced the joy of being Nana to 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, passing down a legacy of love and laughter. Her home was the ultimate gathering place, especially during the holidays. She kept traditional, large family celebrations alive, filling her kitchen with music and love as she baked alongside her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Linda will also be remembered for her sharp wit, close bonds, and the legendary "Stitch & Bitch" club. Every Thursday, Linda, her sisters, sisters-in-law, daughters, nieces, and closest friends gathered over coffee and fresh-baked goods. It was a sacred weekly ritual filled with shared recipes, life advice, deep support, and an abundance of laughter.
Linda’s spirit lives on in the music she loved, the recipes she shared, and the massive, tight-knit family she built and nurtured. She was a beacon of light to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; her four loving daughters, Lisa Jean & Mike Principe of Middleboro, Jeanette Hauke of Austin, TX, Angela & William Donnelly of Berkley, Darlene & Pedro Araujo of Franklin.
She was the adored Nana to her 14 grandchildren: James, Jason, Victoria, Joshua, Anthony, Nathan, Lukas, Nicolas, Aidan, Noah, Gavin, Michael, Dilainy, Paisleigh, and 3 great-grandchildren, Carmela, Capri & Lenny II, who loved their Nana dearly.
