Lisa Ann (McCarthy) Black, 61, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center in Milton surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Bruno M. Black who was her companion for 47 years. She was born in Salem, the daughter of the late John F. McCarthy and Mary Helen (Wickenhiser) McKenzie. Lisa was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1980. She was a records clerk for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections at Cedar Junction in Walpole for several years. She enjoyed knitting blankets for her loved ones. She also enjoyed playing cards and trips to New Hampshire and the ocean, particularly Horseneck Beach in Westport. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Lisa is survived by her son, Michael J. Black of Woonsocket, RI. She was the sister of Mary Ojala of Middleboro, Timothy McCarthy and Anne McCarthy both of Milton, Thomas McCarthy of East Bridgewater, Caroline Mitchell of Rowley and the late John McCarthy. She was also the step-sister of Billy Graham of Eldorado Hills, CA and Julie King of Placerville, CA and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 10 from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa‘s memory may be made to AccentCare Hospice, made payable to the Seasons Hospice Foundation, 8537 Solution Center, Chicago, IL 60677.
