Louis John LaCivita Jr. completed his life journey on Monday, August 4, 2025. Louis passed peacefully after a short illness surrounded by family and friends during his last days. Son of the late Louis J. and Eileen G. (Foster) LaCivita, he was born in Brockton and raised in Stoughton. He resided in various locations over the years before settling in Dorchester many years ago. Over the years Louis was a housemate and friend to many of the United Cerebral Palsy Chapter of Boston and was well liked by the professional staff members.
Louis enjoyed spending time with his brothers and family. He was an avid Red Sox fan and attended many games at Fenway Park. He enjoyed many vacations at Camp Allen in New Hampshire and attending daily activities at BAMSI in Quincy. He was very comfortable with a microphone in his hand to sing his favorite songs while attending social functions and was a member of the Sing-A-Long Singers in Lexington as well as Work, Inc. in Dorchester.
Louis is survived by his brothers, Wilfred J. “Bill” LaCivita and his wife Kathleen of Raynham, Carl F. LaCivita of Easton and Paul F. LaCivita and his wife Linda of Fall River as well as his nieces and nephews, Jeanette LaCivita, Jacob LaCivita and his wife Jessica, Eileen A. Orr and husband Michael, Carolyn LaCivita-Berghuys and her wife Ashlee Berghuys, Jeremy LaCivita and his wife Jeanna, Seth LaCivita and his wife Elizabeth, Alexis LaCivita and Hannah LaCivita. He is also survived by his great-nephews, William LaCivita and Jesse LaCivita. Louis is also survived by many cousins and had a special place in his heart for his deceased sister-in-law, Jeane F. LaCivita.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, August 7 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday, August 8 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis‘ name may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy of MetroBoston, 71 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472 (www.ucpboston.org).
