Manuel R. Jardim, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, December 14, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Ines (Josue) Jardim for 54 years. Son of the late João and Maria (Barros) Jardim, he was born and raised in Madeira, Portugal before moving to Stoughton 38 years ago. He worked at the Nabisco Company in Mansfield for 4 years then worked at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield for 30 years before retiring in 2019.
In addition to his wife, Manuel is survived by his children, Jorge M.R. Jardim and his wife Analina of Attleboro, Anabela J. Cardoso of Stoughton and Fatima M. Jardim of Marlboro, as well as his grandchildren, Peter DaSilva, Matthew Cardoso, Stephen Chancey, Otavio Pinho, Jonathan Celestino and Cairo States. He is also survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, December 20 from 2-5 PM. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, masks and social distancing are required and his Funeral Mass will be private. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
