Manuel A. Reis

Manuel A Reis, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday June 6th,2022 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born and raised on the island of Graciosa in the Açores, it was there that he married the love of his life Maria Fatima Teles. In 1970, they came to Stoughton to start their family. Manuel and Maria were married for over 50 years and raised three beloved children. For over seventeen years he worked at Morse Shoe, before retiring. Manuel enjoyed being outdoors, gardening in the yard and attending Portuguese Carnaval and festas. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, grandsons and his beloved cat, Zoey.

In addition to his wife Maria Fatima Reis, he is survived by his three children, Maria Elena Reis and her husband Denis Palermo, Michael M. Reis and his wife Maggie and Lisa M. Reis, all of Stoughton. He was the beloved Avo of Kyle and Ryan Reis. He was the brother of Gilbert Reis, Nizalda Picanco and Gene Reis, all of Stoughton and the late Elia Silva. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Manny's memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
