Marcy Robin (Price) McCarthy

Marcy Robin (Price) McCarthy, 51, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Rosalyn E. (Sokol) Price of Brockton and the late Burton Price. Born in Stoughton, she was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1991. She also graduated from Massasoit Community College in Brockton. Marcy was a lifelong resident of Brockton before moving to Fayetteville, NC for a year and later returning when she became ill. She worked as a manager at Lowe’s in Brockton for 20 years before taking the same position at Lowe’s in North Carolina for a year. Marcy was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Brockton Raiders Youth Football Program. In her free time, she enjoyed trips to casinos, playing cards and walking on the beach, especially Nantasket Beach. She was a beloved aunt who was adored by her nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother and adored her children. She shared a love for “You Are My Sunshine” with her daughter Alison and considered her son Kevin to be her rock. Marcy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, Marcy is survived by her children, Alison N. McCarthy and her fiancé Stone Pavao of Brockton and Kevin M. McCarthy of Brockton. She was the sister of Jay Price and his wife Christine of Brockton and Amy Cobb and her husband Daniel of Hanson. She was the aunt of Timothy and Amanda Price, Matthew and Megan Wagner and Steven McCarthy. She was the sister-in-law of Dan McCarthy and his wife Melynda and Terri McCarthy. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Victor Holmen and her best friend, Sean McCarthy. 

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 10 AM-1PM followed by a Funeral Service at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcy‘s memory may be made to the Massachusetts General Development Office, c/o Pancreatic Cancer Research, 125 Nashua St., Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114-1101.
