Maria Amalia Aguiar

Maria Amalia (Teixeira) Aguiar, a long-time resident of Stoughton, passed away at home on Thursday, August 20, 2020 in the care of loved ones following a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Victor D. Aguiar. Daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Rodrigues) Teixeira, she was born and raised in Madeira, Portugal. Maria was a resident of Stoughton for 54 years. She was active in many church groups, including the choir and a proud Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church. She devoted her entire life to her family and above all else was a loyal servant to God. Maria will be most remembered for her compassion for helping others, her bright smile, her bacalhau and roasted potatoes, enjoyed working in her flower garden and attending retreats. We will always feel her guiding presence showing us the path forward.

Maria was a devoted mother to Rosa M. Conneely, Davide D. Aguiar, Dinis V. Aguiar and Cidalia M. Aguiar. She was the beloved grandmother of Amanda Cibotti, Aidan Conneely and Sadie Aguiar. She is also survived by her siblings, Fatima Teles, Horacio Teixeira, Ilda Sheppard and Cidalia Pimentel as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, August 24 from 4-7 PM. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the Funeral Mass will be private. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Please wear face masks and social distancing required.
