Maria L. "Lucy" (Jardim) Coelho

Maria L. (Jardim) “Lucy” Coelho, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2024 at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Coelho who she was married to for 40 years before his passing in 1995. Born, raised, and educated in Madeira, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Jardim and Rosa (Nunes) Jardim. Lucy came to the States in 1967, where she settled in Stoughton and raised her family, devoting herself as a mother and caretaker for her children. She worked at Analog Devices for 30 years as a Quality Control Inspector, where she was well-liked and formed many friendships throughout the years of her job. A longstanding member of the Portuguese National Club out of Stoughton, she dedicated her time within the club and stayed involved in the community for many years. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Lucy is survived by her sons Arthur Coelho and his wife Lily of Stoughton, and Joseph Coelho and his wife Izzie of Florida. She was the grandmother to Andrea, Catherine, and Gina Coelho, and was the great-grandmother to Nolan Woodhouse. She is also survived by her loving sister Teresa Bettencourt, and her devoted sister-in-law Zelia Coelho, and was predeceased by her siblings Benny Fernandes, Tony Fernandes, and Abel Jardim.

Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Monday December 9th from 9-10 AM, with a Funeral Service to follow at 10 AM. Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
