Maria Felicidade (Fernandes) DaSilva

Maria Felicidade (Fernandes) DaSilva, 95, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI on Saturday, February 4, 2023.  She was the wife of the late Manuel C. DaSilva.  Daughter of the late Jose and Elisa (Correia) Fernandes, she was born and raised in Madeira, Portugal.  She resided in Stoughton for over 70 years.  Maria worked at Shawmut Mills in Stoughton for 15 years then at RCA in Needham for 5 years before finishing her career at Plymouth Rubber in Canton, where she worked for 19 years until her retirement.  She loved sewing and crocheting and donated over 800 quilts to local charities, in particular Project Linus.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her children, Faith M. Daya and her husband Shiraz of Brandon, VT, Manuel C. DaSilva, Jr. and his wife Marie of Rockland and Laurinda Ryan and her husband Kevin of Cumberland, RI as well as her grandchildren, Jena and Andrew Daya, Amy Wood and Bethany DaSilva and Tyler, Matthew and Jason Ryan and her great-grandson, Ezekiel Ruiz-Ryan.  She was the sister of Elsie Campanario, Alice Costa and John Fernandes all of Stoughton and the late David and Manuel Fernandes.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 9 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.  Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria‘s memory may be made to Catholic TV, PO Box 9196, 34 Chestnut Street, Watertown, MA 02471 (https://www.catholictv.org/donate.html).
