Marian A. (Ferzoco) Fulciniti, 89, a longtime resident of Hyannis, died peacefully at Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham on Thursday, January 5, 2023. She was the wife of 66 years of the late Anthony F. Fulciniti and daughter of the late Patrick and Viola (Patrignani) Ferzoco. She was born in Boston and raised in Readville. Marian was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and earned an Associate Degree from Boston University. She was a resident of Stoughton, Milton and Westwood before residing in Hyannis for the past 30 years. She was a secretary at the Robinson Company in Hyde Park for ten years and was a bookkeeper and salesperson at Optique in Brockton for 25 years before retiring.
Marian’s spirit — loving, kind, social, deeply rooted in her faith — and oh so fun. Soon after retiring to the Cape, Marian acquired a Sebring convertible and would pick up “the girls" so they could drive around with the top down and the music up! That fun loving spirit also transferred to a “love of the game”, whether that was her avid tennis playing in her younger years, rooting for her favorite Red Sox team, or always winning at Bingo. And with music in her heart, Marian’s natural talent at the piano would bring people together at a gathering and would also bring her personal joy, especially playing her favorite hymns. This fun continued as Marian and Anthony were true snowbirds, living their dream with summers on Cape Cod and winters in Fort Lauderdale, combined with many other trips with their friends.
Marian’s heart was always with her family, especially her children and granddaughters. As “Grammy” she taught her two granddaughters, affectionately nicknamed “Sweetheart” and “Treasure”, how to play Chopsticks on the piano, to have a love of books and ice cream, and how to shop for great deals. Her passion for music lives on in both their hearts.
But the love she had for her beloved, Anthony, was unmatched. She loved him deeply and truly. With Anthony by her side she knew she could face anything. As she would always say - look at how his smile lights up the room when he walks in!
On behalf of the Fulciniti family, a special thank you to the amazing Maristhill nursing home staff for the compassionate care and love provided to our mother, not to mention the fun and games from the stellar activities team that enriched her daily life. We remain forever grateful.
Marian is survived by her three children, Elaine LaPlante and her husband William of Manchester, NH, Jeffrey Fulciniti and his wife Yvonne (deCourcy) Fulciniti of Bedford, NH and Gail Fulciniti of Lexington, MA. She was the loving grandmother of Janelle and Marissa LaPlante. She was the sister of Evelyn Matthews and her husband Clint of Stoughton, the late Warren Ferzoco and his surviving wife Barbara of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., and the late Robert Ferzoco. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, January 13 from 9:00-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Church, Milton at 11:30 AM.
