Marie S. (Dantes) Cajuste, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Tabarre, Haiti, she was the beloved daughter of the late Erzulie Blanc Dantes. Raised and educated in Haiti, Marie came to live in America 40+ years ago and lived in Massachusetts for 22 years.
Marie was the devoted wife of the late Ambroise Cajuste. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.
She was an entrepreneur. She bought commerce all over the world and then resold them in Haiti. She dedicated her life to her family and worked tirelessly in several areas in the United States. She was admired for her strong work ethic, her unwavering generosity, and the way she always put others before herself. Known for her giving heart, Marie was happiest when her home was filled with laughter, conversation, and the company of her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
She will be remembered as a woman of deep faith, kindness, and strength—someone who gave freely, loved unconditionally, and found joy in simple moments with those she cherished most. Her legacy of love and resilience will live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
Marie leaves behind her children: Ruth Lapointe of New Jersey; Guersie Lapointe Fenelus. of Randolph; Nancy Cajuste, Michael Cajuste, and Evelyn Cajuste, all of Florida; and Evans Cajuste of Mattapan. She was predeceased by her son, Honfre Dantes.
She is also survived by her siblings: Roldophe Serizier of Randolph, Yanick (Serizier) Dessources of Milton. She will be dearly missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 11, from 8–9 a.m. at the Brockton Haitian Church, 940 Main Street, Brockton. A Funeral Service will follow at 9 a.m. Burial will take place at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, joyfully reunited with her beloved husband and loved ones who have gone before her, and rests in the eternal embrace of the Lord.
