Marie J. (Ficicchy) Leahy

Marie J. (Ficicchy) Leahy of Brockton passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Born June 8, 1940 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Adeline (Mattia) and James Ficicchy, and was predeceased by her husband Francis “Frank” Leahy. She attended Hyde Park High, graduating Class of 1957, and then graduated from Mansfield Beauty Academy in Boston. She followed her passion as a Hairdresser for over 30 years working for Gino of Italy in Brockton, and then Andrea's Beauty Salon in Easton from which she retired in 2008. Marie was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and would often put her needs aside to help others. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She enjoyed hosting gatherings at her home, celebrating birthdays, holidays and any event with so much passion. Her favorite past time was enjoying the Ficicchy cottage in Wareham, where she spent most of the summer at the beach. She also spent time gardening in her yard, playing cards with friends, capturing memories through photos, watching football, loving her cats and cooking delicious food, one of her specialties being Italian.

Marie is also survived by her children Frank M. Leahy, Tim J. Leahy and his wife Michelle, as well as her grandchildren Ryan C.
Leahy, Brittany L. (Leahy) Collins and her husband Tim and Paige P. Leahy and her partner Anthony LoConte, along with her great-grandchildren Chloe Collins and Paityn LoConte, all of Taunton. She was the sister of John Ficicchy and his wife Irene of Attleboro, James Ficicchy of FL, and the late Adeline Haigh, and also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Services will be private at her request. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie’s memory may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers  MA 01960.
