Marie Louise (Harron) Pray, 85, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, December 19, 2022. She was the wife of the late Richard Brooks Pray. Born in Burlington, she was raised in Avon and graduated from Avon High School, Class of 1955. She resided in Stoughton for the past 63 years. Marie was a legal secretary for a few years before becoming a homemaker once her and her husband started their family. She was very active at Avon Baptist Church, where she was a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher and a member of both the choir and music committee. She enjoyed monthly gatherings with her friends, “The Icebreakers.” She also enjoyed trips to the beach, in particular Little Harbor Beach in Wareham and cruises to Bermuda but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her children, Linda Marie Enck and her husband Robert, Jr. of East Freetown, David Newton Pray and his wife Lorna of Manchester, NH and Kimberly Lynn Mann and her husband Robert of North Easton as well as her grandchildren, Joshua Pray, Renee Clancy, Aaron Pray, Robert Enck, III, Rebecca Pray, Samantha Mann and Cody Mann. She was the great-grandmother of Nadia Enck, Collin Clancy, Olivia Cloutier and Lily Cloutier. She was the daughter of the late John "Bill" and Helen (Holmes) MacLeod. She was the sister of Audrey Cappiello of West Yarmouth and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at the Avon Baptist Church, 119 West Main Street, Avon on Wednesday, December 28 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, December 27 from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie‘s memory may be made to Avon Baptist Church, 119 West Main Street, Avon, MA 02322.
