Mark N. "Pappy" Theriault, of Chino Valley, Arizona, formerly of Stoughton, Massachusetts, passed away on September 20, 2026 on hospice, at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Prescott, Arizona, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He received exceptional care from the VA throughout his illness, and his family is deeply grateful for the compassion and support he received. Mark was married for 41 years to his beloved wife, Robin Lee Theriault. He loved Robin deeply and cared for her devotedly throughout her illness until her passing in October 2020. Their life together was an important part of who Mark was and remained a cherished part of his life. Born on August 13, 1948, Mark was the son of the late Norman and Olive Theriault of Stoughton. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Boiler Technician Fireman and remained a proud U.S. Veteran throughout his life. Mark was a lifelong plumber and carpenter who possessed an incredible work ethic and took great pride in everything he built. He was a man who could see the potential in an idea and turn it into something real with his own two hands. From creating unique fire hydrant lamps to building a house from the ground up, Mark put his heart and hard work into everything he made.

Over the past few years, Mark fought a long and difficult battle with unwavering strength and courage. Over the past year, he began to share with his loved ones that he was getting tired and was ready for what comes next. He made his plan, and as difficult as it was, we all followed his lead.Through it all, Mark found humor and joy in the little things. He taught his family to find laughter even in the hardest moments and to appreciate the happiness found in life’s simplest moments.We will cherish all of our talks, our laughter, and our tears together. Mark truly showed us what love, peace, and dignity meant to him. And through everything he faced, he proved to us all that he was the strongest man we know.He will be missed more than words can ever express, but the love, laughter, and lessons he gave us will remain with us always.

Mark is survived by his children Erin Lee (Theriault) Holland and her husband Michael of Brockton, Melissa Beth Cook and her husband Peter of Perris, California, Matthew Persek and his wife Stacy of Lake Forest, California, and Jason Persek of Westminster, California. He was a proud grandfather to Hannah Rose Holland of Brockton, and Lily Persek of Lake Forest, California. Mark is also survived by his loving siblings: Janice McMurdy and her husband Bruce of Palm Bay, Florida, James Theriault and his wife Lorraine of Bourne, Denise Peterson and her husband David of Stoughton, Michelle Pimental and her husband Paul of Berlin, Vermont; and Scott Theriault of Buena Park, California. Nieces and nephews too.

A private Graveside service will be held at a later date.
