Martin J. "Micky" DesRoches

Martin J. “Micky” DesRoches, Jr., a longtime resident of Stoughton, age 72, passed away suddenly on November 9, 2024. He was married to Mary A. Gonsalves, the love of his life for 28 years. Born in Norwood, he was the son of the late Martin J. DesRoches, Sr. and Joyce (Bothwell) McCarthy and was raised and educated in Dedham. Working as a Warehouse Supervisor, he was employed at Casual Male in Canton for over 25 years before retiring in 2009. He and his wife enjoyed vacationing to their home in Naples and attending the spring training games for the Red Sox as season ticket holders. He thoroughly enjoyed the music of Dickie Betts and loved attending countless concerts. A lifelong music enthusiast, he loved sharing stories from his days as bassist for The Berlin Street Band.

Micky was at his happiest surrounded by those he loved most: his beloved wife, family, and friends. His loyal companion and fur baby, Manny, brought him daily joy, filling his life with laughter and warmth. Whether sharing stories around the table, celebrating life’s moments, or enjoying quiet evenings together, he treasured these times deeply. His presence brought comfort and love to everyone around him, and his memory will be held close in the hearts of all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed.

Micky was preceded in death by his dear son David DesRoches and his cherished in-laws Joseph and Gloria Gonsalves. He was the beloved brother-in-law to Elaine and Charles Clark, and Gloria and John Reinhart. He was the devoted uncle to Charlie and Jean Clark, Marianne and Paul Quartarone, Christina and Rich Sullivan, and Jonathan and Tricia Reinhart, and was the adored great-uncle to Joseph and Elizabeth Clark, Carol and RJ Sullivan, Anna, Dominic and Grace Quartarone, and Catherine and Sarah Reinhart.

Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Micky’s name may be made to The American Lung Association at https://action.lung.org/site/Donation2?df_id=31271&mfc_pref=T&31271.donation=form1.
