Mary Ann (Young) Cook, 60, a resident of Canton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Monday, January 31, 2022 due to complications from Covid. She was the wife of Richard A. Cook. Daughter of the late Norman E. and Mary E. (Santos) Young, she was born in Ballston Spa, NY and raised in Stoughton. Mary Ann was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1979. She resided in Canton for the past 6 years. Mary Ann was a Crossing Guard for Stoughton Public Schools for over 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and helping others. She also loved her friends at Page's Market in Stoughton who have shown her love and support over the years.
In addition to her husband, Mary Ann is survived by her sisters, Nancy A. Puljanowki of Stoughton and Norma J. Paiva and her husband Frank of Halifax. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, David, Jillian, Frankie, Ryan and Kevin, as well as 4 great-nieces and her beloved cat, Jojo.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 3 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 10-11 PM. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Ann's memory may be made to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Office of Development, 330 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
